#youthdecide: From Scrolling to Action

The viral campaign #youthdecide was launched in May 2026 on Instagram and TikTok. Through the playful youthdecide Bingo, it invites young people to take small steps towards youth participation — such as talking to their parents about activism, analysing a political song with friends, checking the sources of a social media post, or attending a community event.

#youthdecide: From Scrolling to Action

A campaign by young people, for young people

More than 50 young people from four European countries — Czechia, Germany, Greece and Portugal — took part in creating the campaign. Together, they joined an intensive three-day workshop, an Ideathon, in Thessaloniki, Greece, where they explored the topic of youth participation and came up with ideas for informational posts, short videos, reels and social media carousels that now form the #youthdecide campaign. The strength of the campaign lies in the fact that it was created by young people in their own language — in the environment of social media, where they commonly share opinions, look for inspiration and respond to the world around them. This allows the campaign to speak about youth participation in a way that feels close to their generation.

The campaign focuses on topics such as verifying information, volunteering, community, interest in politics, opportunities for young people to get involved in the European Union, and the courage not to let others decide about their future.

Curious how the campaign was created?

Take a look behind the scenes and see how young people worked together to create content designed to inspire action.

The views and opinions expressed are those of the authors only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the grant provider. Neither the European Union nor the grant provider can be held responsible for them.
